This BUNDLE is to give youth leaders many activities to teach the above theme for the bi-weekly lesson.
Look for these activity handouts to help you teach lesson concepts and give them TEACHING TOOLS to plan and develop lesson objectives. These lesson-match interactive activities will add to and enhance your lessons.
LESSON-MATCH ACTIVITIES IN THIS BUNDLE INCLUDES (detailed below):
(1) Live the gospel. How have we come closer to the Savior? How are we trying to be more like Him?
ACTIVITY: POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. I CAN GROW LIKE JESUS Inch-by-inch growth chart and measure-up bookmark. Youth can contemplate their choices to see if they measure up to how Jesus “Increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:52). Only this is tricky as the measure-up wordstrips are written backward; they will have to look at them closer in a mirror to read how they can grow inch-by-inch like Jesus.
(2) Care for those in need. Who has been on our minds lately? How can we help these individuals?
ACTIVITY: YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. FAITHFUL SERVANT Service Planner. Here youth can record WHOM/WHO they want to serve, WHY does one need to be served, WHAT to do, WHERE they will go to serve, and WHEN to serve. To be a faithful serv”ant” they can answer questions to create their plan.
3) Invite all to receive the gospel. How can we answer our friends’ questions about the Church in a way that strengthens their faith in the Savior?
ACTIVITY: POST-AND-PRESENT ACTIVITY. DON’T BOTTLE-UP YOUR TESTIMONY Share it! spin-the-bottle. Youth can learn how to build a strong belief in the gospel and testify of truth. They can spin to find the topic and then share their beliefs on the topic. Also, great for Discussion Starters; Scripture Chase; and Table Talk.
(4) Unite families for eternity. What are some ways we can better connect with extended family members, such as grandparents and cousins?
ACTIVITY: YOUTH GOAL ACTIVITY. EXTENDED FAMILY CLOSENESS: Be a Friend checklist and postcard. Youth can send this “You’re a STAR of the family!” postcard to an extended family member with a note of admiration and friendship. Then, use the FAMILY CLOSENESS CHECKLIST for ideas to gather that family member closer.
